Visa – free entry to Russia for FAN ID holders

There’s no secret that Russia was the host of the world cup this summer. For all you lucky people out there that had the privilege to attend on a game and visit this big beautiful country, you are even more lucky now when the Russian president allows visa – free visits for FAN ID holders to the end of 2018 including family members or friends to travel with you as well.

I quote: “As you may have heard, I suggested that my colleagues consider this possibility, decisions are being made and we will continue to grant visa-free entry to Fan ID holders until the end of the year, while their family members and friends travelling with them will have a chance to get free visas,” Russias president Vladimir Putin said.

The Russian president added that it was part of a plan to increase the tourist inflow.

I had the privilege to attend at the world cup event for 1 game, Sweden vs Switzerland and stayed in St. Petersburg for a few days. But i’m definitely going back to explore more of Russia this year.

I’ve been to Russia one time before and then I applied for a tourist visa and made an article about it because it can be hard to understand. Click here to find out how you do if you cant make it to Russia this year.

Click here if you wanna find out how my time was in St. Petersburg and Moscow first time i was there.

My experience of Nameless music festival!

So now i traveled from Milano to my new home in Lecco. About 40 minutes outside of Milano. Very easy to get there by train. Costed me 5-6€ from Milano train station to Lecco train station.

And WOW! what a small beautiful city right in the middle of the mountains. I definitely recommend to go here just for relax or hike!

Nameless music festival!

Are you thinking about going to Nameless music festival? Here are some tips if you wanna go:

  1. Accommodation:  Book in advance! And then I mean accommodation. The festival is in Barzio and the accommodation is running out fast. So I recommend that you book your accommodation in Lecco. This i where i was staying Hotel moderno
  2. Transportation: It’s maybe 20-30 minute bus-ride to between the 2 towns depending on the traffic of course. There’s shuttle buses that are driving every 10th minute to the festival and back. Shuttle buses are driving back as well but it can be long queues.
  3. Artists: This festival attracts some of the biggest names in EDM for example, Armin van Buuren, Axwell Λ Ingrosso & Steve Angello. Of course there’s different artists every year but Nameless music festival will always have some big names.
  4. Prices & Costs: The price for a ticket depends. A 3 day ticket will cost you from 60€ – 80€, depends on when you buy it. Then there’s VIP-ticket that cost you from 100€-160€. Personally, I don’t think it’s worth to buy an VIP ticket to this festival but that’s a matter of taste. Accommodation is individually, Totally depends if you wanna sleep in a hostel, hotel, AirBnB or some other accommodation. If you’re booking it in time, it wont be too expensive. If you book a week before, like me, you will pay approximately 500-600€.
  5. How to get here: If you’re flying to Milano, take the train to Lecco from Milano train station. (If you’re staying in Lecco) either way, jump off the train in Lecco and then take bus to Barzio if you’re staying there. To the festival itself, like I said before, there are shuttle buses that will take you there from Lecco.
  6. Worth it?: Yes, I think this festival it’s totally worth it. Cheap prices, stunning venue and incredible people. Everyone is very helpful and a very good organisation. If you want some inspiration take a look at there aftermovie from 2017 right here: NMF 2017 aftermovie

I’ve made my own aftermovie that you can check out right here My Aftermovie

Milano, Italy!

After a visit in a sunny and beautiful Venice, Italy I took a bus to Italys second largest city: Milano.

Like always i like to share with you how long and how much the bus costed. This time it was around 4hr ride and costed 8€.

Pretty insane how affordable it is to travel by bus or train in Europe!

It was a very short stop in Milano when i made my way for Lecco.

5 must in Milano!

  • For starters you have to see “Piazza del Duomo” at the city square of Milan. With its beautiful architecture, 157m long and 108m high it’s stunning. The cathedral fits over 40 000 people so don’t worry, You will be able to see it from inside.
  • Fontana di Piazza Castello” dominates the entrance of at the front of the castle “Sforzesco“. It’s just a walk from the from the square “Duomo“. Absolute beautiful and great place for a good photo or selfie.
  • The castle of “Sforzesco“. This centuries-old castle attracts museum, art and beautiful surroundings that will delight both cultural lovers and historians. I’ll recommend you to book a guided tour so you can learn it all of the beautiful “Castello Sforzesco“.
  • The shopping. What can i say? Milano is one of the world’s fashion metropolises. Together with London, New York and Paris also known as “the big four”. Shopping opportunities are endless in Milano and wether your interest is in high fashion, vintage or simple fashion, there’s something for you there.
  • Go and watch a football game at “Stadio Giuseppe Meazza” also know as San siro. It’s the biggest football stadium in whole Italy with its capacity over 80 000 people. If there is no football game, take a guided tour at the Stadium. Totally worth it! But of course i recommend to go when there is a game.

Now I’m off to Lecco and Barzio for Nameless music festival. It seems like this festival is up in the mountains and everyone speaking good about it! Follow me there!

Pros & Cons of Venice!

So my time in Ljubljana and Slovenia has come to an end and with sorrow and joy I’m leaving this wonderful country. But Venice shouldn’t be so awful right? but it will take a lot to beat Slovenia in my opinion. To get from Ljubljana to Venice is very easy and cheap if you travel by bus. 3.30hrs and will cost you around 10-15€.

It’s no secret that Venice is the most romantic place on earth and it’s every couples dream to go there and enjoy themselves. But you can have different views on that. Here i will give you some Pros and Cons about Venice.

Pros.

  • For starters, it is a very romantic place. early mornings and late nights when the mass – tourism is sleeping, you will see Venice for what it is.
  • ” Dinner with a view “. Wherever you wanna eat or just relax with some wine, I think the taste gets better with a view. Like an old chef said: You eat with your eyes. Pizza and pasta is absolute incredible in Venice. The wine isn’t to bad either ;-).
  • How to get around is not by car, it’s by boat. There is not a single car on the streets of Venice. You can take day-trips to Lido for an example with a boat and see Venice from a Boat view.
  • I’ve actually have to mention Lido “Lido di Venezia”. Don’t miss it. Walk the little town. Rent a bike and ride out as far as you can, passing the hotel where they filmed “Death In Venice”. I actually recommend to stay in Lido If you’re going to Venice. Short way / time to Venice, San Marcos place, 15 min. whit the water bus and you’re away from the mass crowd.
  • A visit to Venice can hardly be felt complete without a visit to the beautiful “Piazza San Marco” also known as St. Mark’s square. The square is know as the most beautiful living room in Europe with its stately buildings that surround the square.

Piazza San Marco

Cons.

  • First of all, obviously it’s the mass tourism that kills this beautiful place. With its approximately 60 000 visitors/day during the season the experts says thats double of what Venice can handle.
  • Even that it is beautiful, the prices are extreme over there. I mean everyone wanna try out the gondolas for an example, but for 80€ for 30 minutes is according to me an overprice. Food and drinks are also very expensive. So remember that, if you’re going, bring a big wallet!

Actually i don’t wanna put more cons here because it’s a probably the most romantic place in Europe.  All you need to know is that it’s totally worth it even if it’s expensive and a lot of tourists.

If you’re gonna live in Venice, here’s a very nice and quiet hotel in the centre that i lived in.

Hotel Ateneo

Now I’m off to Milano for a few days and after that i’m going to Nameless music festival in a small town called Barzio. Stay Tuned!

Lake Bled, Slovenia!

Lake bled, Slovenia was absolute mind blowing. Whatever you like to do on your travels or vacation, The town bled and its stunning park and lake has something for everyone.

Lake bled is an Serbo-Croatian glacial lake in the northwestern Slovenia. Its located 475 metres above sea level. This glacial lake is 2.1 km long and around 1.4km wide.

Climb up to the castle where this picture —> was taken and enjoy the panoramic view over the lake.

But what more can you do here except taking pictures? Well, I’m gonna give you “3 things to do” at Lake bled, Slovenia!

  1. Boat ride: You can board an gondola or paddle by yourself out to the little island of lake bled and visit “Church of the Assumption” which has a lot of history!

Just to walking around this beautiful lake was the perfect place for me to relax.

View of the castle of Bled.

Surrounded by mountains and forrest.

When you see the castle from below it looks very impressive and you think it has to be beautiful up there.

The hike up to the castle where this picture –> was taken will take you about 10-15 minutes to walk up and there are A LOT of stairs (but they are new and well laid out).

It’s a hard walk up there but it’s totally worth it!

What are some of your best places for relaxation and stress relief? Lake bled was perfect for me.

So what are you waiting for? Start pack your bags and book your next travel to Slovenia, Bled!

Do you know where Ljubljana is?

So, the bus took me to Ljubljana, Slovenia from Bratislava in 6hrs (cost of 9€) and i had no idea what to expect.

But i was absolute blown away of the views and the landscape we were driving trough. 6 hour of pure exaltation. I thought at this point that my stay in Ljubljana should probably be very good.

unbelievable history, incredible views and so much to do.

Lets start with some history.

1895. Maaajor earthquake. Most of the city was destroyed, but you know the saying – you cant make an omelette without breaking an egg. The city got a full makeover giving Ljubljana the urban appearance it still has today.

1945. Slovenia became part of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY), along with Croatia, Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Macedonia. Reconstruction after the war resulted in Ljubljana growing via the simple combination of socialist neighbourhoods and “discrete” modernist high-rises alongside baroque buildings in the centre.

1977. Pankrti (Bastards), one of the first punk bands in a communist country, took the stage, heralding the arrival of one of the most vibrant music scenes at the time. Of course, the government wasn’t too pleased with such rebellious ideas, often turning to oppression to subdue them.

1991. After the disintegration of SFRY, the war for independence lasted no longer than ten days, though lives were still lost. A new era began for Slovenia and Ljubljana, which finally became the capital of an independent country.

2004. Slovenia joined the EU and Ljubljana disappeared from the list of cheap locations on Balkan trips. No one can really agree whether Slovenia belongs to Western, Eastern, Central or Southern Europe – we just now they like the new things at old prices.

2017. Convinced by the sheer number of mentions of Jože Plečnik in the USE-IT Ljubljana maps (and maybe the fact that it’s the 60th anniversary of his death), the city of Ljubljana decides to go with the flow and decides 2017 victorious USE-IT team starts working on its new agenda – getting 2018 to be declared by the year of coypu.

Here’s 4 reason why you should go to Ljubljana, Slovenia!

  1. Beer o’clock: Ljubljana has experienced a beer boom in recent years, so make sure not to miss the quality beers from local craft breweries. I recommend: Pelicon, Bevog, Human fish, Reservoir dogs, Mali grad or Maister. If you’re more of a traditionalist, the most two most popular beers are Laško and Union, which have been around since the 19th century.
  2. Ljubljana castle: Ljubljana Castle (Ljubljanski grad) is an the capital landmark and a place to discover centuries of Slovenian history. At the top of the wooded Castle Hill, the castle rises above Ljubljana’s medieval Old Town.
  3. Lake Bled: Is an Serbo-Croatian glacial lake in the northwestern Slovenia. Just an hour outside Ljubljana, the buses is going there every hour from morning to afternoon and back to Ljubljana every half an hour. This is an absolute must! You can check my other blog post for pictures and inspiration about Lake bled here:
  4. Postojna cave: Postojna Cave is the largest Karst cave in Slovenia with a total of 24 km of underground tunnels. Absolute mind blowing!

Bratislava, Ljubljana and Lake bled.

Have you ever been to Bratislava, Slovakia?

As usual i traveled by bus. From Budapest to Bratislava took 2hrs35min and costed 7€. Like i said before, If you have the time to travel by bus then you should definitely do it. You will save money and you will see so much more on the way!

Another country, Another experience!

Bratislava is the capital of Slovak republic, also called by some “The beauty on the Danube”. Danube is the second longest river in Europe, flowing 1,785 miles from Germany to Ukraine into the Black Sea.

Here’s a list of what i did in Bratislava and why i think you should travel to Bratislava, Slovakia!

  • Danube river: One of the worlds great rivers. From Bratislava it goes day-cruises to Vienna and around to different places in Slovakia. For an example: Devin castle that i personally think is a must do! Several floating restaurants have been in operation for years here as well that you can experience the beautiful nature while enjoying a meal and maybe a glass of wine. Sounds good?
  •  Bratislava castle: An absolute must do according to me. Bratislava Castle is the landmark overlooking the capital. It was built in 9th century and It stands on the hill above Danube river. You will probably be walking trough the beautiful St. Martin’s Dome and the narrow streets of the Old town. You can also drive there if it’s not possible to walk.
  • Blue church: Just like from a fairy-tale. Bratislavas Blue church has the exact same color as the sky when you’re looking at it on a sunny day. The church was built in the early 20th century and the official name is ” Saint Elizabeth’s church ” but obvious everybody call it the Blue church.
  • Old town: If you love restaurants with outdoor seating as much as i do, you will be in heaven. When you’re walking this narrow streets in Old town with its beautiful architecture, It can be nice to sit down and have something to drink, an ice cream or even a meal. You can walk around in Old town of Bratislava for hours if you want! A must do!

Now I’m off to Ljubljana and Slovenia! Hope i see you there!

Here’s a video of my stay here in Bratislava and some footage of Slovenia! Enjoy.

I think there’s something for everyone to do in Budapest. Here’s 6 reasons why you should travel to Budapest, Hungary!

  1. It’s very cheap in Budapest,  1€ = 319 HUF. Let me put that in an example for you:  If you want to grab a beer in a restaurant it’s 500-600HUF = 1.6-1.9€. 15 min taxi ride will cost you somewhere around 2000-3000 HUF = 6-9€ depending on taxi company and driver. Make sure you get fixed price!
  2. Budapest is probably the most preserved city in Europe after WWII and has many tourist attractions to visit.
  3. The night life is incredible! There’s pubs and clubs in every corner of Budapest. In all different categories. Gay clubs, RnB clubs, EDM clubs, Rock n Roll clubs just for some example. Check this club out i visited Akvárium Club.
  4. Budapest has most thermal baths and Spa among all of the worlds capitals. I love the kind of relaxation you get on a thermal bath or a spa. That’s why i visited this one Széchenyi thermal bath.
  5. Like everything else, Accommodation is very cheap. I was living right next to Szabadság Square. Almost as near the city centre as possible. I booked trough AirBnB and payed for 2 persons 163€ for 3 nights. The apartment could fit 4 persons or even more!
  6. If you love travel and this isn’t your only stop on your journey like myself, There’s buses that can take you where ever (almost). I booked a bus to Bratislava, Slovakia. It will take 2.30hrs and costed me 7€.
